We are seeking a Communications and PR Coordinator to join our CoCulture team with a strong focus on innovative and engaging communication. CoCulture e.V. was founded in 2017 by Syrian artist Khaled Barakeh and is a Berlin-based non-profit organisation and a creative hub for social and art projects.

Role Purpose:

Create, communicate and promote the public image of CoCulture. Communicate CoCulture’s written identity through social media, our project websites, newsletters and fundraising applications and reports.

Responsibilities and Key Activities:

  • Plan, develop and implement PR strategies
  • Create and implement a written identity for CoCulture
  • Create and share content with users on social media sites such as Instagram, Twitter and Facebook
  • Support and write content for fundraising applications and grant reports
  • Create content for presentations, websites, annual reports, brochures and other written forms of communication

We are seeking a creative and organised Program Curator / Space Coordinator for our public program Makan at CoCulture. CoCulture e.V. was founded in 2017 by Syrian artist Khaled Barakeh and is a Berlin-based non-profit organisation and a creative hub for social and art projects. Makan is a new public program at CoCulture, that will host a variety of events in our Studio at Gesundbrunnen reflecting on and engaging with topics relevant to CoCulture’s mission, from art exhibitions and artist residencies to music concerts, film screenings and public talks. We see the growth of the space as a collective process – besides the main program designed by CoCulture, we want to invite the community to curate events focused on topics that matter to them.

Role Purpose:

Create and produce the CoCulture public and community events program. Both curating and producing exhibitions, networking events, concerts, film screenings, panels and workshops and also supporting the community to produce events in the CoCulture Space.

Responsibilities and Key Activities:

  • Create a strategy for the Makan project with the CoCulture founder, including clear aims and outputs
  • Curating, developing and implementing CoCulture’s series of events
  • Coordinating with community users of the space to support their events
  • Managing the event plan, budget and documentation for reporting
  • Organising the event logistics with the support of the CoCulture Assistant
  • Communication and community building with target users of the space
  • Communication and relationship building with artistic institutions, galleries and events in Berlin

We are seeking an organised and flexible Personal Assistant to join our Studio Khaled Barakeh and CoCulture team.

Role Purpose:

All-round personal administrative support to Khaled Barakeh, across both his art studio (80%) and non-profit CoCulture (20%). Please note that the position has a strong focus on calendar management, documentation and administration tasks.

Responsibilities and Key Activities:

  • Personal assistance to the artist
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of his email and activities
  • All-around communication connected to Khaled Barakeh, from general inquiries, project communication, press requests and exhibitions invitations to liaison with galleries, institutions and other partners
  • Supervise the studio administration (invoices, payments) providing information to the bookkeeper and accountant
  • Work closely with the CoCulture Assistant to split tasks
  • Oversee all studio systems, including the local server, the project management platform (Asana) and other digital accounts
  • Update and maintain the contact database and manage the studio newsletter (on Mailchimp)
  • Coordinate the studio fundraising activities
  • Coordinate the studio activities maintaining oversight of all ongoing artistic projects and making sure all deadlines are met
  • Coordinate the studio’s production and exhibitions calendar as well as the artist’s schedule, visas and travel
  • Maintain the studio’s press, image, and project archive, both physical and digital, including backups

Requirements:

  • Degree (BA/MA) in Administration, Cultural Management or a related field and/or demonstrable experience as a personal assistant in an artistic or non-profit institution
  • Fluency in English and German (minimum B2 German proficiency); Arabic is a plus
  • Impeccable written skills and intuition for the appropriate register and tone in communications
  • Interest in the practice of Studio Khaled Barakeh
  • Knowledge of and interest in art and the contemporary art world
  • Fluency with Macintosh platforms and software including Mail, Microsoft Office Suite; Adobe Creative Suite is a plus

Role purpose:

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented and flexible Fundraising Manager to join our growing organizations CoCulture e.V. and Studio Khaled Barakeh. In this position, you should develop fundraising strategies as well as maintain a strong network of connections in the field to help financing our many projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Research funding opportunities, public and private (local, national, EU, international; government agencies, trusts, foundations, philanthropists etc.)
  • Create and maintain a fundraising database with contact details and deadlines
  • Develop relationships with major donors, identify new potential major donors and nurture relationships
  • Attend relevant fundraising events such as foundation meetings etc.
  • Plan and implement fundraising campaigns and events
  • Write and manage grant applications, narrative and financial statements ensuring that they are submitted on time and meet the donors' expectations
  • Create sponsorship concepts, approach potential sponsors and, if successful, follow-up on the partnership
  • Prepare contracts and follow-up on the implementation
  • Record, monitor and report financial progress

Role purpose:

Manage and coordinate the programme of CoCulture e.V. and the CoCulture hub; support the General Manager in the further development of the association, i.e. also in the formation of its profile and strategic orientation.

Responsibilities:

Key Activities

  • Support the institutionalization of CoCulture e.V.
  • Conceptualize, plan, implement and coordinate the further development of CoCulture and its projects (SCI, SB …), together with the General Managers
  • Develop a structure and coordinate the program with partner institutions
  • Create and manage budgets, supervise the daily book-keeping and coordinate the accountancy with the accountant
  • Support the Fundraising Manager in the fundraising strategy, the applications and reports

      • Prepare a timetable, coordinate with the other events;
      • Supervise the administration (invoices, payments) and make sure that the space is in good condition (cleaning, maintenance).
      • Represent CoCulture and the CoCulture hub in meetings, workshops and conferences.
    • P.R./Communication:
      • Support the PR Manager in developing and implementing a PR strategy and in reaching out to the audience, e.g. with press events, press releases etc.; supervise the development of the new website and the CI
      • Make sure that the programme is always updated on the website and in social media;
      • Plan and contribute to the content of all printed material and publications related to the programme;
      • Train the team in the office tools (filing system etc.) and make sure they adhere to a common CI;
      • Ensure transparency and open communication across the team;
      • Consistently brainstorm and collaborate with the team for new ideas and strategies;
      • Ensure that all projects are in line with CoCulture’s general strategy;
