Coculture e.V. is a Berlin-based non-profit organization and a creative hub that serves as the institutional frame for social and art projects founded by a group of cultural actors from different backgrounds. coculture implements different creative strategies of combining art with political and cultural hacking, which often leads to the development of social interventions that aim to improve the situation of artists in exile, while at the same time contributing to the local cultural scene.
Founded in 2017 and created as a response to the challenges that artists with a forced migration background face today, coculture completes its mission through the impact that is being generated by its activities. In pursuit of devising solutions to specific challenges posed by the extraordinary times we live in, coculture has started several projects and initiatives – both cultural and social. Rooted in the vibrant city of Berlin, it aims to reach both new and old members of the local society, providing them with equal opportunities to grow, create and participate in coculture ’s activities on a daily basis – through workshops, exhibitions and other cultural-related events.
The assembly is a group of seven creatives representing different cultural and professional backgrounds, united in a belief that a collective spirit and the active exchange of varying viewpoints is crucial for the process of development of any innovation.
Dedicated to creative problem-solving methods, the team strives to improve the situation of artists in exile and enhance their visibility on the global scene.
